Fall is by far one of my favorite seasons! I love how the weather cools off and the leaves start to change. I am a huge proponent of spending time with your family, so I am always looking for ways to incorporate a holiday or season into a fun activity. Madeline is still super tiny, so I can’t quite justify doing anything elaborate just yet. However, one fun thing we did find to do was to go visit a pumpkin patch during October. A lot of local farms decorate for this time of year, and they oftentimes have family activities for FREE!!! One close to our house had a beautiful display of pumpkins, as well as a lot of activities for kids. They also had a petting zoo, which Maddie loved! They do have some activities that you pay for (such as a hay ride, which looked super fun!!!), but we decided to hold off until Madeline is a little older. She is at the point right now where she can only do something for about an hour before she loses it, so we typically get in and out when we go somewhere. 🙂
A lot of these farms are family owned, so it is also a great chance to support a local business! All of the pumpkins were for sale, so we decided to purchase ours here, rather than a large box store. We really enjoyed visiting the pumpkin patch, and it was also very inexpensive! There were so many places to get family photos, so the day was spent making fun memories while not spending a ton of money.
We think that this is most definitely going to become a family tradition that we will continue for years. 🙂 🙂 🙂
