Just as I did the pink pumpkin for Madeline’s room during the month of October (you can read about it HERE), I really wanted to decorate her room for Christmas too! I found the cutest mint green Christmas tree at the At Home store (formerly Garden Ridge) with iridescent limbs. The tree is about four feet tall, and it comes in several colors. They did have a pink one, but I liked the contrasting mint color against her pink walls. Here is a picture of her tree at night (her talking Mother Goose doll can be found HERE):
I then went to Hobby Lobby, and purchased a few plastic ornaments at 50% off. I also picked up her monogrammed ornament (below) for $5.00 at the Cincinnati Holiday Market!! I couldn’t believe that they were so cheap!! They look like glass, but they are actually made of plastic (which is perfect for children). The monogram is printed on Lilly Pulitzer vinyl, which I love. I picked up two for this year (a turquoise one and a hot pink one), and I will be on the lookout for more next year. I was also able to find the tiny ivory tree skirt at TJ Maxx.
Madeline was quite intrigued with her tree, particularly when the lights were on. I love the pictures below (and yes, we are wearing matching pajamas – LOL):
Below is something that I am going to have to figure out for next year. Madeline couldn’t crawl yet when this picture was taken, so I just had to make sure she couldn’t reach it when we sat near her tree. I will most likely be relocating her tree next year so she doesn’t try to pull it down – LOL!
Her Elf On the Shelf also made an appearance from the North Pole!!
She wasn’t 100% sold on the idea of the elf this year, but hopefully she will warm up to him next year – LOL!!! 🙂
All in all, I was very happy with Madeline’s Christmas decorations. We didn’t do a ton, but we did enough to make her room feel super festive for her first Christmas. Her smile says it all……. 🙂
